Plus, tea farmers in Rwanda have a formal plucking standard; it’s a serious business. The freshest 2 leaves and a bud. From the top of the bush. Not too big, or too small. Farmers receive premium for plucking tea to this very high standard. And they pluck by hand; hands see better than machines.

Elevation
Rwanda is known as the land of a thousand hills. The higher the elevation, the slower the tea grows and the deeper the flavour of the tea.
Process
This is a black tea so once the leaves are plucked and dried, they are left to ferment or oxidise - this means the air gets to the leaves and turns them black. The oxidation is what gives black tea it's deep flavour and colour perfect with milk.

It would be a lie to say expectations were not extremely high when my first order of Spill arrived. To be honest I had around 70 Yorkshire gold tea bags left to finish before I would allow myself to open the, quietly calling, white and red bad of Spill bags. That whisper became a roar and after 3 days I binned the Yorkshire, fired up the kettle and committed to, what is truly a fundamentally life shift, Spill.
Like the shooting of Kennedy I will always remember where I was when I had that first cup (Cardiff) and, like having bought a new toy, sharing 'my' find with anyone who darken my door.
Although I am a morning coffee drinker, I eagerly look forward to the afternoon when I can warm the soul with a couple cups of Spill and that little spark of joy, in the everyday, is genuinely the gem of a life philosophy.
Bought on a whim after reading one of these reviews, where someone said it was like Yorkshire Tea only better. It really is. Will be drinking this from now on.
