Rwanda has big hills, volcanic soil, tropical sun, big showers. These are the things that make great tasting tea.
Plus, tea farmers in Rwanda have a formal plucking standard; it’s a serious business. The freshest 2 leaves and a bud. From the top of the bush. Not too big, or too small. Farmers receive premium for plucking tea to this very high standard. And they pluck by hand; hands see better than machines.

Elevation
Rwanda is known as the land of a thousand hills. The higher the elevation, the slower the tea grows and the deeper the flavour of the tea.
Process
This is a black tea so once the leaves are plucked and dried, they are left to ferment or oxidise - this means the air gets to the leaves and turns them black. The oxidation is what gives black tea it's deep flavour and colour perfect with milk.

This is everything you need a tea to be. Pleasantly strong but without the horrible bitter aftertaste that many tea bags have. I am a total convert. Really love the storage tin too, a lovely, brilliantly branded bonus. Looks smart in my kitchen.
