Shipping and Delivery
Dispatch: We aim to dispatch all orders placed on the SPILL website within a maximum 2 working days.
If you select "Express delivery" before midday we aim to dispatch this order the same day.
Delivery: We use Royal Mail as our courier. There are two options at the checkout.
Express delivery - Royal Mail 24 hour.
Standard delivery - Royal Mail 48 hour.
Organic and Fairtrade
SPILL teas are not certified as organic. Organic certification is not a sign of quality.
SPILL teas are not fairtrade certified. Fairtrade has a base price is $2 in Rwanda, we have set a base price of $3. In addition we pay the farmers an additional $0.5 / KG. Therefore we pay a minimum of 50% above Fairtrade.
PACKAGING
We have put our focus on minimising the amount of packaging we use whilst (very importantly!) maintaining the quality of the tea. Many of the mainstream teas are packaged in two layers of packaging. So, our objective was to halve the amount of packaging used, which we have done.
Our single piece of packaging is 90% paper.
When our volumes are significant enough we will be moving to using a fully biodegradable tea bag. In the meantime we would encourage you to use the loose tea, we know it feels a faff but once you get used to a pot / infuser its a game changer!
